Castlehill
Knowe Bed and Breakfast nestles in the beautiful Manor Valley among some
of the highest hills in the Scottish Borders, where the Manor Water flows
down to meet the River Tweed just above Neidpath Castle near Peebles. From the lounge
you can watch as the local wildlife comes into view - a lazy heron, a
circling buzzard, perhaps a sika or roe deer...
The lounge is part of the accommodation for your use at any time - it is centrally heated but also has an open log fire. There are wonderful views over the countryside
and this fine room is a perfect place to relax after a strenuous day
and while away the evening planning the next day's activities.
We also have a sunroom with views towards Canada Hill where you can
hear the cackling of the Red Grouse, or just browse through the maps
and books.
Outside, enjoy the freedom of the garden's herbaceous and seasonal flowers, or watch the birds at the bird table.
Breakfast is served in the relaxed ambience of the dining room, with a selection of starters including grapefruit, yoghurt, cereal and porridge. This
can be followed with the traditional Scottish Breakfast (choice of egg fried, scrambled, poached or boiled; bacon, sausage, tomato, mushroom, haggis and hash browns) or a choice to suit e.g. a fresh fruit platter, or croissant with cheese. All bread is home-baked and we serve freshly
brewed coffee and home-made preserves.
Packed lunches can be supplied on request.
Home-cooked evening meals can be offered if booked in advance.
